The New York rapper, business mogul, and film producer invited the Million Dollaz Worth of Game team to Shreveport for the Humor and Harmony Festival. There, he talked about how he made it through his career despite being blackballed, how he broke into Hollywood, and his reactions to or take on the shots thrown at him by Rick Ross.
Rick Ross and 50 Cent have been at loggerheads for years, with their feud stemming far back to 2009, when Rick Ross claimed that 50 Cent gave him a disrespectful look at the BET Awards in 2008.
Though 50 Cent denied these claims, their beef has escalated to both exchanging diss tracks, with 50 Cent questioning Rick Ross’ street credibility. They continue to throw jabs, compete over wealth and who’s richer, and mock and troll each other with insults in interviews and online media posts.
Ross’ fights often center around his wealth and how much wealthier he is than 50 Cent. Meanwhile, 50 Cent debunks Ross’ claims, stating that Rick Ross is living a fake life and questioning the legitimacy of his status. He claims Ross inflates his public and media persona for recognition while also reminding him of his former job as a correctional officer, which Rick Ross initially denied until evidence was presented.
Also, 50 Cent, being the highly opinionated “street boss” that he is, addressed the ongoing feud during a question posed by Gillie Da Kid, one of the podcasters on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, who wanted to know why the feud has lasted for so many years.
Gillie asked:
“I seen Ross take a shot at you a couple weeks ago about a girl that you’re not even with no more. What is it with you and Ross that’s just been going on for so long?”
50 Cent responded:
“See, nothing else works for him outside of mentioning me. When things get bad, you mention me, and it gets covered.
Further, you see TMZ—if 50 Cent says this, it’s going to be bad for Irv Gotti’s career—I get covered across the board; they get covered on the hip-hop blogs. It is what it is. And you watch because I have nothing else to say. You just see it happen periodically as it goes, you know?
You see that big white elephant, that property he lived at—it costs more than the nightclubs. He’s in the nightclubs. We know what they can give you. They can’t pay you more than they can pay you because the room can’t hold enough people for them to give you the money to stay there. He can stay through squatter holding onto the leg of a chair as they move, but that’s what it is. It’s just a part of the presentation.”
