50 Cent claims that Lil Durk’s biggest records are always collaborations, while his solo records are not always commercially successful.

The rapper appeared as a guest on the Talk with Flee podcast alongside Cam’ron, Tony Yayo, and Uncle Murda, where he discussed his beef with Jay-Z, the Power series, his business ventures, and other topics. The Queens rapper also spoke about Lil Durk and MDC Los Angeles, where Durk is awaiting trial on charges related to an alleged murder-for-hire plot.

Discussing Lil Durk’s career, 50 Cent pointed out that most of Durk’s biggest records are features, and he tends to have less commercial success with his solo releases.

“Durk’s biggest records are somebody else’s records that he is on instead of his solo records. His solo records make hair stand up, but the records that make him a success are usually collaborations between him and other artists. Durk’s run is like that,”

Said the Queens rapper.

Although 50 Cent might not be entirely correct, he does have a point. Many of Lil Durk’s most commercially successful projects have been collaborations. His joint album with rapper Lil Baby, ‘The Voice of the Heroes’, released in 2021, was his first album to debut at number one on the charts. The rapper’s first song to crack the Hot 100 was “Off White VLONE” with Lil Baby, Gunna, and Nav, which peaked at No. 54.

‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ by Drake, which featured Lil Durk, marked Durk’s first entry into the top 40, top 20, and top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It remained his highest-charting song until 2023, when ‘All My Life’, featuring J. Cole, matched its peak at number two. Drake’s ‘In The Bible’ which featured Lil Durk & Giveon which peaked at number seven on Billboard Hot 100 is the only other Lil Durk song that has featured in the top 10.

‘Ahhh Ha’ which peaked 18 on Billboard Hot 100 remains his only single that has ever managed to make top 20. Lil Durk has had a total of 92 songs feature on Billboard Hot 100, with only 32 of them being singles.
