50 Cent has finally revealed the reason why he bought up all front-row tickets for Ja Rule’s concert so that he can perform in front of an almost empty crowd.
Ja Rule and 50 Cent have one of the longest feuds in the history of hip-hop. Their beef goes as far back as 1999 when the two rappers parted ways, and has been ongoing to this day
The “Candy Shop” crooner once made headlines for buying 200 tickets to Ja Rule’s concert in 2018 just so Ja Rule would perform in front of an empty crowd.
50 Cent has finally disclosed the reason why he did that during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
Asked by Big Boy if he actually bought the tickets, 50 Cent replied,
“I did,” he admitted. “Cheap tickets. The tickets were very affordable. They were on StubHub… but the first four rows.”
50 Cent also admitted that he bought the tickets simply because he wanted Ja Rule’s front-row seats to be empty.
“I looked at it, I said, ‘Yo, I just want you to feel like you gotta reach the people,”
Fif joked while outstretching his arm.
“They’re like four, five rows back.”
It was reported that the tickets to the show cost $15, which means 50 Cent spent $3000 to purchase 200 tickets. Well, that sounds like chicken change to someone who has a net worth of over $40 million
50 Cent added that the tickets meant nothing to him and they’re among the things he has bought in his life that don’t mean anything to him
“It was not that big of a sacrifice for me. I’ve bought things that mean less to me,”
He added.
50 Cent is known for always taking trolling to the next level, and this right here was one of those peak 50 Cent moments
Chris Brown was rumored to have pulled the same move during his feud with Quavo a few months ago. It was reported that Chris Brown bought the front-row tickets for Quavo’s show, causing him to perform in front of an almost empty crowd. 50 Cent applauded the move from Breezy in an Instagram post
How did 50 Cent and Ja Rule’s beef really start?
Well, no one really knows the actual reason because the two rappers have given out conflicting stories. According to Ja Rule, they started after 50 was snubbed by Murder Inc. during a shoot for his single ‘Murda 4 Life.’ 50 Cent has however denied these claims. 50’s own version of the Genesis of their beef is that it was because a friend of his robbed Ja for his necklace in 1999 and Ja Rule stopped talking to him since then.
Their beef peaked in the early 2000s and saw diss tracks like 50’s ‘I Smell P***y’, ‘Back Down’ and ‘Hail Mary’ – the latter of which honed in on Ja Rule’s ‘obsession’ with Tupac – were met with Ja Rule’s ‘Loose Change’, ‘Guess Who Shot Ya
Everyone thought the beef in 2013 was over when Ja Rule tweeted he was on the same flight with 50 Cent, and there were no alterations between them. However, the beef was far from over. 50 Cent performed his famous Ja Rule diss track ‘I Smelly P*ssy’ at Hot 97 Summer Jam and it reignited the beef.
