Pitbull reveals he only dissed Lil Wayne because of the disrespect he showed to his hometown of Miami despite the love they showed him after he moved there following the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans.

The Miami rapper released a Lil Wayne diss track in 2013 after Wayne went on a rant against the Miami Heat and other stars from Miami. This was after the Miami Heat announced that they had banned Lil Wayne from all NBA events.

Speaking on the Sway’s Universe podcast, Pitbull gave Lil Wayne his flowers before pointing out how he disrespected the city of Miami.

‘Lil Wayne is incredibly talented okay, amazing at what he does let’s just say. But when you come to Miami right, a city that has fought for everything that they do, they’ll always look at that like some b**ty shakers, ’cause they always looked at it like men they Bama, or they this, they that.”

Said the Miami rapper.

“And then you come down here then you enjoy the fruits of our labor, which is you going in these clubs and you doing everything you do which is giving you everything you rapping about, ’cause I’m listening to what you’re rapping about, I’m listening to who you hanging with and banging with, and I know who you banging with. ’cause believe me you have been there and done that. And I know what those guys are made of. And I know why you would, I’m going and putting.”

He continued

Pitbull also said he made sure he didn’t go out disrespecting Wayne as he only stuck to the fact that he disrespected Miami.

“Why would you disrespect the crib? That’s all, that’s it. If you noticed I ain’t going out no way and everything I stated was facts, and what I said in the book is true, I grew up with no Daddy, I ain’t have a Daddy much less in life, much less to bring me up in the game. You feel me? So things I spoke about like we already know who really eat which is slim & Baby. We know who eats at the end in the game of life”

Before Pitbull released the diss track, Lil Wayne and Birdman had gone on a rant against Miami and its stars, in an event All-Star event at Stereo Live in Houston, Texas which also had the presence of top artists like Drake, J. Cole, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes, Meek Mill, and Machine Gun Kelly. The event was organized by Wayne and Birdman.

According to people who were at the event and footage obtained by TMZ, Weezy got on the mic and confirmed the news that the Miami Heat had banned him from all NBA events. And then proceeded to shout:

 “F**k the Heat, F**k LeBron, F**k She-Wade, and I F**ked Chris Bosh’s wife, F**k the NBA” and “F**k the Miami Heat”

Chants. Birdman joined him on stage and shouted.

“If Wayne say F**k you, I say m*therF**k you!”.

Pitbull released his diss track shortly after that incident and the only response he got from Wéézy was a Tweet criticizing the diss track.

“Dam pit bull bro I thought u was kool”
