The Game has doubled down on his claim that Kanye West did more for him in two weeks than Dre did for him in his entire career.
Speaking on the All The Smoke podcast hosted by Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, The Game spoke about his controversial statement where he claimed Ye did more for his career than Dre. Asked about his relationship with Kanye West, The Game said he considers Ye as a brother because he helped his career a lot
“I’ve been catching a lot of flag for saying Ye did more for in the last two weeks than Dre did in my whole career.”
Said the Compton rapper
The Game also made claims that he would’ve still blown up even if he wasn’t signed by Dr.Dre and he was the “hottest n*** in Compton”
“One thing Dre did was sign me but he signed the hottest n*** in Compton. It didn’t matter who was gonna sign me, I was gonna be the next n***. So as long as Dre and Jimmy Iovine signing me to Aftermath and scope, they also did themselves a favor because they had picked up where Tupac left by signing me because I was gonna be the next n***.”
“So it’s like as much as Dre did for signing me, I did for him in bridging the gap for the West Coast. You have 50 and Em but you don’t have nothing on the West Coast. So as much as Dre did for me, I did for him. He’ll tell you that if we’re being honest.”
He continued.
The Game emphasized the fact that Ye put him in rooms Dr.Dre had never put him in, and also helped instill a billionaire mindset in him.
“So when I say that Ye did more for me in those two weeks than Dre did for me in my entire career, it’s like the conversations I had with Ye. The billionaire mindset that he put me in, the rooms that I walked in, Dre has never put me in those rooms. So it wasn’t to say that Dre never did shit for me, it was to say that my mindset and what I know including my financial literacy just from being around this man is more than I can ever repay him and that is absolutely more than what Dre has done for me in my entire career”
“I could remember being signed to Aftermath and being damn near broke. I’m not saying it was Dre’s fault but n***s wasn’t putting no n***s on with no money. I wasn’t part of Dre’s Beats headphones deal but I was in the room when n***s was creating it. I’m not saying n***s owe me nothing. Like the Super Bowl deal I didn’t feel like n***s owed me because I was not there I just felt like it was weird I wasn’t there.”
He continued,
The Game’s relationship with Dr. Dre has been heated over the years as the rapper has gone from praising the legendary producer in one breath to shading him at almost every opportunity he gets. Game has always accused Dre of leaving him out of important deals and conversations.
