Omari Hardwick has once again called out 50 Cent, accusing him of failing the fans by selling them a version different from the original Power series storyline.
It’s no secret that 50 Cent and Omari Hardwick, popularly known as James St. Patrick or Ghost, no longer see eye to eye ever since the Power series came to an end. The two movie stars parted ways after they couldn’t agree on a new contract for the Power series. Hardwick accused 50 Cent of underpaying him for his role and revealed he had to borrow money from 50 Cent to support his family. 50 Cent, however, denied the claims, saying Omari overvalues himself and hasn’t had a major movie role since Power.
As a guest on the Uninterrupted podcast with Matt Barnes and Trae Young, Omari Hardwick once again called out 50 Cent after he was asked by Matt Barnes if ‘Ghost’ will make a return to the series.
“I’m with you in the sense that the way the story was sold and told to me is not befitting of the way it ended,” he said. “So y’all have every right to be like it didn’t end right, and it’s because we don’t honor our fans enough,”
He continued.
He went on to reveal that the show was not supposed to end the way it did, so the fans have every right to be disappointed.
“We often forget that the fans are being sold and told a story that has a Genesis and that it has to end the way that it was sold and told to end. And because it wasn’t, y’all have every right to be upset. It didn’t end the way that we started the show. Had it ended the way that we started the show, then I think you guys would be extremely satisfied with the art and the beauty that the show was. It should exist in museums. You should be able to forever have conversations about the show,”
Said the actor.
Omari also reminded the fans that he is bigger than the character ‘Ghost’ and that fans should follow him rather than the character he portrayed in the Starz series.
“I just want y’all as fans to remember that I played the guy, so I’m a little bit bigger than him, so it’s better to follow me than a character. Just remember that.”
50 Cent reacted to the video on IG, calling Omari a ‘Strange bird’ and reminding him of the fact that he always looked out for him.
“This **** is a strange bird. The **** is he talking about? I never did anything but look out for him. If he needed something, I gave it to him. I understand now that it didn’t matter.”
