Diddy’s kids (Justin Dior Combs, Christian Casey Combs, Chance Combs, D’Lila Star Combs, Jessie James Combs, Love Sean Combs, and Quincy Brown) on the 4th of November 2024 celebrated their father’s 55th birthday with him on a phone call while he was in jail.
Diddy, who has 7 children (one adopted—Quincy Brown), attended the call in jail from his children, who recorded the call and shared it on social media, prompting several opinions, concerns, and backlash from fans and well-wishers.
Diddy, commonly called “Puff Daddy” by some, was raided multiple times earlier in March 2024 on his various properties in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City by the Department of Homeland Security. They found and seized items such as over 1,000 bottles of Johnson’s baby oil, and others.
These allegations span from 2008 to the present, involving sex trafficking, racket**ring, r*pe, murd*r, and other related cases.
Additionally, there are civil lawsuits related to sexual assault and physical violence, including video footage from 2016 of him physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, Cassie (Cassandra Elizabeth Ventura), in a hotel hallway in Los Angeles. Cassie, one of the individuals accusing him of misconduct, reported several instances of domestic violence and s*x trafficking, some of which were settled out of court.
According to some unverified reports, he allegedly paid her off and intimidated her with threats. Even though he never anticipated the release of the video of him abusing Cassie, which was captured on CCTV and made public in May 2024, he went live to apologize, stating that he was in a dark place in his life, was on hard dr*gs, but was seeking therapy and was ashamed of his unjustifiable actions. Despite facing multiple charges in the past, Diddy always managed to beat some of these cases, with some lingering for years.
However, on September 16, 2024, he was arrested in Manhattan following a grand jury indictment. Things worsened for him with the release of the footage showing him assaulting Cassie, which intensified the situation.
Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges levied against him. However, due to reports of him potentially trying to blackmail, intimidate, and coerce victims or accusers, he was denied bail and locked up in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, the same detention center where Luigi Mangione is being held for shooting the CEO of UnitedHealthcare on December 4, 2024, in New York City. Before this, Diddy’s public appearances and posts consistently suggested that he was innocent of the accusations against him and that they were merely attempts to bring down his legacy and tarnish his reputation.
Meanwhile, Diddy’s trial begins on March 5, 2025.
Despite all of this, Diddy has always been a great dad. He often shares videos of his family and kids having a good time together and showing up for each other. Some critics have accused him of attempting to influence potential jurors by encouraging the posting of private moments with his kids on social media. They also allege that he has been using cell phones to run media campaigns involving his children in an attempt to sway public opinion in his favor.
His kids have always expressed love for their dad, and they did so in the video as they asked their youngest sister, Love Sean Combs, to sing their dad a birthday song. In between the call, Diddy expressed his appreciation to his kids for standing strong during these trying times and not giving up on themselves either
“I love you all, I love y’all so much,” he said. His kids responded, “We love you too, daddy.” He then continued, “I can’t wait to see y’all, and I just want to say I’m proud of y’all, especially y’all girls. But I’m proud of y’all. I wanna thank y’all for loving and supporting me, standing by me, and making this call with me. I just wanna say I have the best family in the whole world, and I love y’all so much.”
The call ended with the kids expressing their wish to see him soon:
“We can’t wait to see you too, daddy. We miss you.”
