Snoop Dogg says his sons and Puffy’s (Sean “Diddy” Combs) sons are best friends
During an interview on Drink Champs, Snoop Dogg revealed that his kids and Diddy’s kids have adopted the friendship that he and Diddy have shared over the years.
He explained that, although neither he nor Diddy made it happen, Kim Porter—Diddy’s late girlfriend, a model and actress—was the one who made it happen.
Diddy and Kim dated on and off for over a decade and shared three children: Christian and twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie. Kim Porter passed away in 2018 from lobar pneumonia, and Diddy has often spoken about how deeply her loss affected him, their kids, and many others in the industry.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg has four kids with two women: Corde Broadus, Cordell Broadus, and Cori Broadus with his wife, Shante Broadus, his high school sweetheart. The couple married in 1997 and have been together ever since.
Snoop also has one other child, Julian Corrie Broadus, from an extramarital affair with Laurie Holmond in 1998. This affair strained his marriage, but he and Shante found ways to navigate through it and restore their relationship.
Snoop Dogg stated that Kim Porter intentionally wanted to connect her kids with his. He shared:
“Puffy’s sons and my sons have been best friends since they were 5 or 6 years old. I didn’t make it happen, and Puffy didn’t make it happen.
One night, I was in my house, and Puffy’s son was over at about 9:00 PM. I asked, ‘Kid, when are you going home?’ And he was like, ‘I’m spending the night.’ I asked, ‘Did you tell your dad?’ And he said, ‘No, my mom dropped me off.’
So Kim [RIP] was connecting my kids with Puff’s kids, and they formed a friendship and a bond. When Justin went to UCLA, my son went to UCLA. When Christian was rapping, my son was rapping. So they forged the friendship and the brotherhood that me and Puff always had.”
Snoop Dogg and Diddy, who are both great dads, often emphasize the importance of family and building long-lasting bonds with their kids.
Snoop saw this as an opportunity for their children to cement the friendship and brotherhood that he and Diddy have always shared.
